Special Help

Last Thursday there was a benefit for our nursery care supervisor, Julie Rogers, organized by her friends. Her husband Bob has been unable to work for several years and they have been denied disability. He’s been been in the hospital many times and his care has prevented Julie from keeping up with her three jobs. She has watched over The Holy Seed Church children for years. If you were unable to attend the benefit and would still like to help, we can get gifts to her. Just indicate that an offering is to her.

Adult Formation

Collins Salwa Will offer a class on the overall mysticism of the Taize experience, exploring how

Holy Spirits, silent meditation, prayers, readings, and song work together to support both an individual and corporate

meditative experience that has the ability to sooth our busy lives. Sundays at 09:30 AM beginning November 15, 2020.

Pledges

Pledge letters have been mailed to each family. If you haven’t sent in your form, there are more available in the Sanctuary and General Conference. You can bring them to the office or mail them in. We are truly grateful for your friendship, as together with our The Holy Seed Church family, we continue our journey following Christ wherever he may lead.

Next the Holy Seed Church Service

The Holy Seed Church service on December 12th was well attended and well received, including many in the community. We are looking forward to the next one on Wednesday, December 19th, 2020 at 10:00 AM. Thank you to all who helped with creating this beautiful event.

Book Club

The next Book Club meeting will be on Saturday, March 14th, 2020 at 9:30 AM at the home of Mary Short. The discussion will center on Chapter 5, “A Complicated God” from the book The Changing Face of God.

All Parishioners!  Come to the Parish Cafe!

So that we can all continue fellowship and welcome newcomers, please plan on taking coffee or tea (with savories and sweets) on Sundays after church at our Parish Cafe. Many of us are enjoying conversation and connections there.  We recall when people have joined us and how we invited them for coffee after church and they joined us there, bringing their enthusiasm and energy and faith.  We recall, too, people who bring the blessings of their family life and wonderful food to our Parish Cafe. This is the place to be.  Please plan on coming and staying awhile as often as possible.

Prayer List and Healing Liturgy

If you would like to add someone to be prayed for in The Prayers of the People, you can fill out one of the sheets available on the table near the Narthex and give it to the ushers. Or call or email the Parish Office. Names will appear for six weeks, but can be continued if the need continues. There will be a special healing liturgy, usually on the fourth Sunday of each month, as part of the Sunday service. Those who would like to come forward for healing will be prayed for and anointed with oil specially consecrated by the bishop.

The Holy Seed Church is an affirming and inclusive Christian community!

Striving through worship, love and service to welcome all people just as God created you. No matter where you are on your journey of faith, our welcome knows no boundaries of age, race, ethnicity, culture, gender expression, sexual orientation, economic condition, physical or mental ability. We believe that God delights in the diversity of creation and so do we!  All are welcome, no exceptions!

Communication!

There are a lot of things happening at The Holy Seed Church! A new form has been developed so that the office can keep up with events and programs and be sure information is communicated to all who should know. In addition, the new Audio Video System in the Parish Hall has many capabilities for streaming, playing DVD’s, slide shows, music, etc. To both ends, we are asking that you fill out a Communication and Tech Request Form for your events and email or turn it in to the office. Copies of the form will be available in the Parish Office and on the table in the Parish Hall. If you need help putting an announcement together, Susan is happy to assist.
